CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Many congratulations to Tony Wakeling our Under 9's Tigers Manager who has just completed and passed his FA Sports 4 All Level 2 Coaching Badge......well done. Tony is also an Essex County FA registered referee which makes him one of the most highly qualified of youth team manager's around at just 18 years of age!!! Tony now intends to go on and achieve his Level 3......one day I'm sure we'll see him taking over at a struggling Premiership team, say, Arsenal or Man Utd for instance! - May 2005 Is Geoff psychic - See U/9 Tigers page for details

CAROL AND CHRIS ADAMS
Many involved with HBFC , Heybridge Swifts FC, our close neighbours Maldon Cricket Club and local youth football and cricket in general will have learned, by now, of the serious road traffic accident involving Carol Adams and son Chris in Maldon on Monday 13th September.
Carol was Club Secretary of HBFC for many years until I took over the role in 2001, Carol moving onto to act as Secretary for Heybridge Swifts Youth. Carol is also the wife of our current Chairman, John.
Chris, Carol and John's younger son, is currently our Under 14's Colchester team goalkeeper and has played all his football at HBFC since the age of seven. He is also a keen cricketer with Maldon Cricket Club.
Both were taken to Broomfield Hospital with very serious injuries but are now stable and making good progress. I am sure that everyone in local football and cricket will join us in wishing a full and speedy recovery to both Carol and Chris. Our thoughts are also very much with John and their elder son Matt at this difficult time.

Tony Marchi and Barry Harding ,members of the former Maldon St. Mary's FC,
at our September 2004 Committee meeting.
A decision was taken by the former members of the club to donate this amount to us. On behalf of all our members thank you. |
ROY ALLEN - RIP
News recently reached us of the sad, sudden and unexpected passing away of Roy Allen who was in his early forties. Roy, and his wife Debbie, have been involved with the Club over many years watching their sons,Chris and Matthew, play at HBFC. An electrician by trade Roy was always on hand to help out and undertake electrical work at the Club for which we will always remember and be grateful. It has been a great shock to us all to learn of his passing at such a young age and our most sincere and deepest condolences are with Debbie, Chris, Matthew, Sarah and all the family.
OUR PRESIDENT RESIGNS
It is with much regret that Heybridge Boys FC announces the resignation of Marion Wakeling our Club President and Child Protection Officer.
"After 18 years involved with the club she has obviously not taken this decision lightly, having given so much in various capacities throughout the years and having seen her three sons play in our colours. Her valuable contributions include recently helping in the preparatory work for our successful FA Charter Standard bid, setting up our Child Protection policy, running our highly successful 5-a-side tournament and of course using her local contacts to position us for our Elm Farm bid is evidence of her wide ranging interest and tireless commitment to the club. After all this time she has decided to concentrate her efforts on the Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League. Marion will be very much missed and everyone at Heybridge Boys FC wishes her well we will now be thinking of a suitable way to recognise her efforts." John Adams, Chairman
